“Project of the Year Award”- awarded in 2008 by the American Public Works Association, Ventura County Chapter for the Calleguas Municipal Water District

Project Description

The Moorpark Pump Station is a key component of the Calleguas Municipal Water District’s Las Posas Basin Aquifer Storage and Recovery Project, which will ultimately provide up to a three-year supply of water for southern Ventura County. The facility will enable Calleguas to deliver water previously stored in a groundwater aquifer system to communities throughout Moorpark’s 360 square mile service area.

Special considerations were taken to have the pump station blend with the surrounding buildings. Use of a tower with a finial, stucco and stone veneer exterior, corbels along eaves, glass block windows were some of the architectural language used to accomplish creating a the look of a building that is integral within its surrounding community.
