GPa is an architectural studio located in Newport Beach, California, looking for individuals that can take ownership of their work and grow with our thriving, ever-growing office. Our projects include a large range of work with civic and municipal projects, universities, water district facilities, etc. The projects range from campus planning, building design, interior design, and renovations. Many of these are notable public projects that are spread across the State of California.

  • Architectural Project Manager

    We are seeking an energetic, confident, and highly motivated individual to join our Newport Beach, CA location as an Architectural Project Manager. Candidates must demonstrate experience in Commercial projects as a CA Licensed Architect. The responsibilities of this position will be to proactively manage all aspects of exciting new projects by scheduling, budgeting, and completing the scope of work to clients' satisfaction. 


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Must have 2 - 5 Years of demonstrated experience coordinating all project efforts; Administrative, Technical, Design Development, Construction Documentation, and Construction Administration for Commerical projects
    • Active Architectural License in California - Required
    • Completion of Bachelor's or Master's in Architecture from an NAAB accredited program
    • Commitment to personal professional growth
    • Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States without any restrictions or visa sponsorship

    Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Needed:

    • Proficient in SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Revit/BIM
    • Substantial experience in using project management tools for project initiation, planning, billing, and tracking labor
    • Exellent communication, organizational, and collaborative skills
    • Self-confident, tenacious while maintaining positive work relationships with clients, outside consultants, and technical staff
    • Able to effectively & positively provide direction and lead architectural staff

    Other essential responsibilities of the position but not limited to:

    • Being fully competent in all aspects of architecture
    • Being able to manage and coordinate all project efforts, administrative & technical, to ensure the most efficient & cost-effective execution of assigned projects through all phases of development, including Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration
    • Estimating fees, determining scope of work, preparing proposals & contracts, and monitoring adherence to terms
    • Actively managing clients' budgets, schedules & programs, project communications, documentation, and project team assignments
    • Being able to serve as clients' contact liaison to bring the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to completion as well as to the clients' satisfaction
    • Providing oversight and monitoring the work of less experienced staff
  • Architectural Designer/Job Captain

    We are seeking a candidate who desires a broad, diverse, and holistic range of architectural experience to support their path to licensure. 

    Our ideal Architectural Designer/Job Captain candidate has a fairly balanced aptitude for design and production aspects of architecture. They should have some basic knowledge of building codes and detailing. Although a basic understanding of building systems and use of AutoCAD is a must, experience and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite,Sketchup, and Revit would be a plus. The candidate should be team oriented and enjoy the dynamics of how a small firm runs and can expect to take ownership in every stage of a project; from conceptual design to construction administration. 


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's or Master's of Architecture degree from an accredited architectual or a degree from a technical institution

    Degree in Architecture is preferred.


    Responsibilities:

    • Will coodinate projects from Preliminary Design through Construction Documents
    • Development of design presentations and graphics
    • 3D Modeling - Sketchup
    • Production of construction documents
    • Conduct field work and client communications
    • Coordinate with engineering consultants
    • Construction services support

    Skills/Requirements:

    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD
    • Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Sketchup experience is a plus
