PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project started with the evaluation of District's need to identify the required space that will meet their current and future needs. The new facility was to be located at the existing operations yard for the District which created additional challenges such as keeping the new structure at least 50 feet from 7 wells and LPG tanks scattered throughout the site, and keeping the operations side from the public activities.

This facility is designed with sustainable features including large windows that allow more than 85% of employees to have views to the outside, a drought tolerant demonstration garden, the use of tube skylights to bring natural light in, fluorescent pendant lights and low partition workstations. This project bid 86% under budget and finished with change order request of about 1.5%
