Project Description

The Gottschalk Medical Plaza, originally built in the 1987, had experienced significant deterioration in its façade and roof system that has caused significant water intrusion. The facility is also severely deficient in terms of meeting current energy standards and is below the median level of performance comparably to existing buildings on campus. On top of this, the building has outdated issues with function, comfort, and space.

...

GPa developed several design schemes based on schedule and budget scenarios to improve and update the façade along with an analysis report to for guiding the existing building to increasing its performance standards. The improvements and design integrated the overall goals for the Campus architectural guidelines and energy goals.

..

Existing Conditions which need to improve:

1. Degrading Building Envelope (Windows, Facade, and Atrium)

2. Inefficient lighting

3. Old HVAC equipment improperly controlled

4. Aging Elevators

5. Large internal plug loads because of less efficient office and diagnostic equipment
